I am Sandra K. (Hancock) Arca, MD. I was born in Dallas and spent all of my childhood in and around Northeast Texas, graduating from Trinity High School in Euless, Texas in 1984. I received my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University (1988)in College Station, Texas (WHOOP!). My four years of general medical training was spent at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas and subsequently I relocated to Nashville, TN for my Pediatric internship and residency at Vanderbilt University Children's Hospital. In 1995 I returned "home" to Northeast Texas and began my general pediatrics practice.
I have lived in Grapevine since 1995 with my husband. We have three magnificent daughters, four dogs and two cats. My personal time is spent reading, attending church and school activities and traveling. I am an avid photographer and have visited Italy three times in the last five years for pleasure and personal spiritual enrichment.
I graduated from The University of Dallas Catholic Biblical School with an advanced certificate in Biblical Studies in 2008. My professional time is spent seeing babies at a local area hospital, seeing patients in my clinic and participating in numerous pediatric educational activities and committees. I have been involved in general pediatric research for the last four years and am a founding member of the Primary Care Pediatric Investigator Network (PCPIN) at Cook Children's.
