Vanessa Charette earned her medical degree and completed her residency at the University of California, San Diego. She joined Cook Children’s 10 years ago. She first worked as a hospitalist, caring for children in the hospital. She moved to the Neighborhood Clinics four years ago to focus on pediatric care and caring for children with special needs. “The Neighborhood Clinic at McCart has become my home. I enjoy teaching parents about infant care, child development and how to care for their sick child. The best part of my job is being able to care for all of the kids in a family and watching them grow. I love that I get to know not only siblings but also cousins, aunts, uncles and grandchildren within the same family. The McCart Clinic is truly a medical home, where our goal is to keep your child healthy not to only see your child when he or she is sick.” When she is not at work, Dr. Charette is trying to keep up with her two young boys. She spends her time taking the kids on hikes and running.
