Mom-approved doctorNo one ever wants to hear that their child has a heart condition, but when you do, it's good to know that some of the finest doctors in cardiac care are only a heartbeat away at Cook Children's Medical Center. Dr. Case is one of those doctors and has performed advanced pediatric cardiology procedures for our patients over many years. Successfully performing the first heart catheter ablations in the early 1990s, and later helped author a book on cutting edge invasive cardiology procedures.

He notes however, "Many people do a great many things in medicine, but the people who remember you best, are the individual patients."

He came to pediatrics from being an oral surgeon. The attraction to being a physician versus a dentist was more than medicine, it was the families. "You have to be able to relate to children, but also relate to the parents. You can successfully treat the kid, but it's not optimal if you don't also treat the family." "Bottom line," he says, "is I feel like I have done my best when I have gone out of my way for the parents."

Dr. Case has a large family and loves nothing more than spending large amounts of time with them.
