The Education Department embraces Cook Children's vision of improving the health and well being of every child.  We understand that the more the community knows about child health and safety, the better the lives of children who live in that community. That's why Cook Children's University offers community courses for parents, family members, child care workers and others.

Asthma EducationLearn more about your child's asthma and how to manage it.
BLS (CPR) for Healthcare ProvidersThe BLS for Healthcare Provider course teaches the skills of adult, child, and infant CPR.
BLS (CPR) for Healthcare Providers RenewalThis course allows individuals who are nearing the end of their two-year American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification to renew their certificate.
CPR for Family and FriendsCPR for Family and Friends is an introduction to adult, child, and infant CPR. Participants do not receive a certification card.
Heartsaver CPRThe Heartsaver CPR course is designed to teach CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction to lay rescuers, particularly those who are expected to respond to emergencies in the workplace.
Heartsaver Pediatric First AidThe Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course teaches the skills necessary to provide CPR and first aid for children. Adult CPR and AED are included.
School Nurse SymposiumToday's school nurses face many unique challenges. This symposium offers them an opportunity to learn from the experts and network with peers.
