Meet our pediatricians
At Cook Children's, taking care of kids means including the whole family. We take the time to listen to you and your child, answer questions and help you navigate parenthood.
Our doctors and practitioners are specialists in the health care of infants, children and adolescents. Our team includes board certified pediatricians that, together with you, will get your kids on the path to leading happy and healthy lives.

Rebecca Olvera, M.D.
We are pleased to announce that Rebecca Olvera, M.D. has extended hours to full time in order to expand our availability.
In 2004, Dr. Olvera joined the Cook Children's Physician Network as a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist. She practiced pediatric oncology at Cook Children's Medical Center until 2007. Trying to find that elusive work/life balance while raising her own young children, she decided to return to general pediatrics. She joined the Cook Children's Southwest Clinic in the fall of 2007. Because of her pediatric hematology/oncology background, she has found a niche as a primary care provider for cancer survivors and their families. Dr. Olvera also has a large number of multiples in her practice as she is the mother of two sets of twins. Dr. Olvera knows it is a privilege to practice medicine and provide health care to your children. She looks forward to being a part of your family and watching your children grow from infancy to young adulthood.
Dr. Olvera attended Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cell Biology in 1993. Dr. Olvera received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1997. She completed her pediatric residency at Texas A&M University College of Medicine – Scott and White Hospital, and served as Chief Resident in Pediatrics in 2000. She then attended The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Children's Medical Center of Dallas. Dr. Olvera attained her board certification in General Pediatrics from the American Board of Pediatrics in 2000. Dr. Olvera became board certified in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology in 2004. She is married to Dr. Marcus Ozaeta and they were blessed with two spontaneous sets of twins, identical twin boys in 2004 and fraternal twin girls in 2009.
