Group Donations

Kid's Closet

If your group or organization (such as a school group) would like to collect and donate in-kind items to the medical center, the Kid's Closet provides that opportunity. The Kid's Closet provides patients or their family members assistance when there is an urgent need for clothing or personal care items. For example, a request may come from the Emergency Department when a child needs a change of clothing after a traumatic accident.

Following is a list of Kid's Closet needs:

  • combs
  • hairbrushes
  • deodorant
  • socks (all sizes)
  • underwear (all sizes)
  • sports bras (all sizes)
  • sweat suits
  • elastic waist shorts (no drawstrings)
  • elastic waist pants (no drawstrings)
  • t-shirts
  • sleepers
  • infant and toddler pajamas

Please note that the medical center is not able to accept donations of used items due to infection risks. If you would like to donate items to the Kid's Closet, please contact:

Patient Entertainment: Helping to Create a Healing Environment

Cook Children's Child Life Department partners with organizations - such as schools, scout groups, churches and corporations - as well as individuals to provide a variety of activities and events for patients during their hospital stay. These events help to create a healing environment where patients can continue to grow, develop and recover.

Many opportunities are available for groups and individuals, including activities that both directly work with the patients and for the patients on "behind-the-scenes" projects. Both types of service support the mission of the hospital: providing quality health care to improve the well being of children.

Below you will find information about these programs. It includes available opportunties, the purpose of activities and necessary limits or boundaries related to the activity. These limits are crucial in ensuring both the physical and emotional well-being of the patients.
