Junior Volunteer Program

Find out about how you can make a difference for kids this summer!

Junior volunteers gain valuable insight while helping others through the Junior Volunteer Program at Cook Children’s.

Cook Children’s Junior Volunteer Program will run from June to August in summer 2008.

Junior Volunteer Program Requirements

  • Must be 14 years of age by June 1, 2008.
  • Completed application including parental permission signature, confidentiality agreement and TB skin test.
  • Complete volunteer orientation.
  • Commitment to volunteer 24 hours during the summer program calendar.

Junior Volunteer Program Application Process
Due to the popularity of the program, a lottery drawing system is in place to make the process as fair as possible to all who are interested.

Junior Volunteers who complete their commitment of 24 hours of service during the eight-week program are invited to return the following year. The teens from this group who respond to the invitation to return are automatically accepted for the program and do not have to participate in the lottery drawing.

A lottery drawing is held the first Monday in February to select new junior volunteers for the summer. The number of names drawn depends on the number of junior volunteer positions remaining after returning juniors have responded to the invitation to participate again.

Application requests are accepted from potential new junior volunteers year around by submitting name, address and phone number for the lottery drawing.

To receive an application for the Junior Volunteer Program, click on the graphic above or call 682-885-4337.

Please remember that you are submitting your name for a drawing. If your name is drawn, you will contacted by the end of February.

Thank you for your interest in making a difference for children!
