Cook Children's Home Health, a non-for-profit company within the continuum of the Cook Children's Health Care System, cares for patients whose disease or conditions allow them to continue recovery or rehabilitation at home.

Cook Children's is the area's most comprehensive pediatric home health provider. Cook Children's Home Health offers convenience for the patients by providing all their home health needs under the care of Cook Children's employees and not via contracts with other providers.

Press Ganey reported in 2006 that the average satisfaction in traditional pediatric home care was 88.8 percent. Cook Children's Home Health's traditional home care services scored 91.7 percent over the last three years.

Research shows that children who require long-term care usually feel better when treated in the familiar surroundings of home. In addition, Home Health services cost significantly less than hospital care.

Cook Children's Home Health is a unique pediatric provider by operating several home care divisions: Nursing Services, Infusion Pharmacy, Durable Medical Equipment, Specialty Biotechnology Drugs and Rehabilitation.

Home Health offers clinical services that include initial discharge planning, patient assessment, home care instruction and ongoing treatments and/or evaluation. The staff works with patients on a monthly, weekly or daily basis.
