Cook Children’s earns Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval
Cook Children’s Medical Center and Cook Children’s Home Health complied with the highest national standards for safety and quality of care to receive the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™.
“Earning Joint Commission accreditation is more proof of Cook Children’s providing the highest quality of care for the benefit of every child treated,” Nancy Cychol, Cook Children’s Medical Center President, said. “During the survey, everyone, including our physicians, nursing staff, employees and leaders combined their efforts. That same quality care is provided every day at Cook Children’s.”
The award of accreditation recognizes Cook Children’s dedication to patient safety and quality of care.
The Joint Commission evaluates and accredits nearly 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States, including more than 8,000 hospitals and home care organizations, and more than 6,800 other health care organizations that provide long term care, assisted living, behavioral health care, laboratory and ambulatory care services. The Joint Commission also accredits health plans, integrated delivery networks, and other managed care entities. An independent, not-for-profit organization, the Joint Commission is the nation's oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care.
