Dr. Soria-Olmos was born and raised in Fort Worth and Cook Children's has always had a special place in her heart. Dr. Soria-Olmos wanted to be doctor for as long as she can remember. She came to know this hospital when she was just a kid herself. Being the older sister of a then very active younger brother provided her the opportunity to experience Cook Children's as a family member of a patient, having visited the medical center several times for care after several broken bones incidents. The many experiences she had at the medical center with her little brother showed her how wonderful Cook Children's is, and she remembers thinking, "I want to be a doctor at Cook Children's one day."
In pursuit of this lifelong dream-turned-career-goal, she attended Texas Christian University to pursue a degree in biology and fulfill pre-medical school requirements. After graduating from TCU she could not quite leave Fort Worth, so she decided to attend medical school at UNTHSC/TCOM in Fort Worth. During medical school she completed part of her pediatric clerkship at Cook Children's, learning about pediatric medicine by attending rounds with pediatric hospitalist here. It was then she knew she wanted to be a pediatrician.
Dr. Soria-Olmos is married and has a son. She and her family are very happy to be back in Fort Worth, and she says she feels happy and privileged to have the opportunity to care for children at Cook Children's. When she's not caring for the kids at the medical center, she enjoys baking, listening to country music, and taking afternoon walks with her son. She also enjoys reading about child safety and child development as well as parenting books.
