Health Sciences Library

The Edwin G. Schwarz Health Sciences Library and the Matustik Family Resource Center are comprehensive medical libraries that offer information resources for physicians, staff, patients and families.

Information is available from academic and research sources or in plain language that helps families understand a child's ailment.

The purpose of the Edwin G. Schwarz Health Sciences Library is to actively support all aspects of patient care, clinical research and education, by providing timely and relevant information and resources to medical and healthcare system staff, patients and their families, students and the community. This goal is accomplished by identifying and providing reference services and appropriate reference tools; acquisition and organization of current print, non-print, and electronic materials; and access to additional resources through document delivery services and the Internet.

The medical library provides resources for clinicians and the public.

The health sciences library is located in the basement on the south end of Cook Children’s Medical Center.

The libraries are open 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday, when the professional staff is available.
