Meet Carrie White
Hi, I'm Carrie! I've been a pediatric nurse practitioner since 2015, but started practicing as a registered nurse in 2001. As a child, I always knew I wanted to work in pediatric medicine; I even told my childhood pediatrician about my plans when I was just 4 years old!
Born and raised a proud Texan, I graduated from Midlothian High school and then spent 2 years studying at The University of Texas at Austin (hook 'em horns!). I then took a detour to complete my nursing degree at West Texas A&M University and to meet my husband. (To clarify, I will tell you I'm NOT an Aggie, I'm a buffalo.)
After graduation, I spent 2 years in Amarillo working as a pediatric nurse at Northwest Texas Healthcare system, where my husband and I had our first son in 2003. We decided to come back to DFW to be closer to family. At that time, I worked in pediatric cardiology, followed by several years in the neonatal ICU where I fell in love with teaching and working with new parents.
I joined Cook Children's in 2018 as a nurse practitioner and spent time working in the urgent cares and, ultimately, in primary care. I take special interest in helping those new moms and dads find their way on their new parenting journey, and I love to watch both the kids and their parents grow. I've also developed a passion for teen mental health and obesity.
My husband, Ryan, and I have been married since 2001 and have 3 amazing sons we've raised in Prosper, TX. Our oldest son swims for Texas A&M University (and yes, I now find myself torn between the Longhorns and the Aggies) and he swam at the 2024 U.S. Olympic trials in Indianapolis. Our middle son is an avid outdoorsman, hunts and fishes and is a proud Texas State Bobcat in San Marcos, TX. Our youngest son has found his passion in FFA and enjoys raising and showing lambs representing Prosper High School.
I enjoy exercising, spending time with family, watching any and all sports, traveling to watch swim meets and stock shows and hugging my big boys when they come home from college to visit. I'm a die hard Cowboys fan through the good, the bad and the ugly... and there's a lot of ugly. Above all, I'm proud to be a pediatric NP and enjoy working for Cook Children's.

We love Nurse Carrie so much. My son has a lot of anxiety and Nurse Carrie as well as her assistant/ nurse knew exactly how ease his worries. And nurse Carrie always makes me feel seen and heard.

Carrie White is absolutely amazing! Ben has seen her since he was 1 & he is now 5 years old. She always listens to our concerns with complete care & full devotion. She has always given us in depth comprehensible information with whatever the visit pertains to. We travel over an hour to see her & will continue to do so until Ben is an adult.

Dr. Carrie White is so AMAZING!!! I hate that eventually my daughter will be too old to see her. There has not been a single time that we have been there that this lady has not listened and/or offered suggestions when we were unsure about things. She always has a smile and a spunky personality that puts her patients at ease. This doctor is an asset to this facility. I will follow her wherever she goes.

Nurse Carrie White is just the greatest. We (both my child and I!) always leave feeling better than we came, even if it was just a wellness visit. She takes the time to listen and offers support to really help us feel supported.

I made an appointment for my son and from start to finish the experience was excellent. The entire staff from check in to the nurse, Carrie, and the student were friendly and professional.It was refreshing to have a nurse and nurse practitioner I could talk to openly, ask questions without judgment, and feel that they genuinely cared about my son's well being. They even provided sample lotions for his eczema which I truly appreciated.Highly recommend this office.
