Meet Kim Andrews
Kim Andrews, APRN, CPNP-PC, has been a Nurse Practitioner since 2015. She's been working in McKinney for the past seven years at Cook Children's Lake Forest and McKinney offices.
Kim was born and raised in Carrolton, Texas. Her family moved to Cairo, Egypt, when she was 13 years old where she attended and graduated high school. This experience made a big impact on her life, teaching her the importance of diversity and inclusion.
Kim graduated college with a business degree but found out that the business world was not for her. It was after marrying and having her first child that she returned to college to pursue nursing. Through her nursing career Kim found a love for working with kids which led to her earning degree as a pediatric nurse practitioner degree at University of South Alabama.
Kim loves working with kids and educating families about caring for babies and kids all throughout their lives. In particular, Kim loves caring for newborns and first-time parents. Kim finds it very rewarding to watch her patients grow into happy healthy young adults. She also has a great affinity for teaching parents about ADHD and helping to treat their kids with this disorder. As a mom of two kids with ADHD she has a personal understanding of how this disorder can affect the family and life of children.
Kim has been married to her husband for 25 years and has two sons. Kim feels like being a mom has helped her to understand the challenges of parenthood and helped her grow in her knowledge of pediatrics with first-hand experience.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, gardening, cooking, traveling and loving on her three sweet dogs.

The check out lady that sits to the left is literally the nicest and so enthusiastic. She genuinely seems to love her job and seems to genuinely be a happy person! Kim as always is such a great provider! The time and knowledge she shares and spends with us is always so appreciated! We love Kim!

I think Kim is phenomenal. She not only cares about my child but also extends that empathetic nature towards me and my concerns. Shes acknowledges cultural beliefs in a respectful manner. I have never felt like any of my concerns are dismissed or "too much" and I cannot say the same for every provider. Kim is the reason I continue to seek care here for my child and why I recommend this practice to every parent I know.

She made my experience so much easier, I moved my sons from lone star pediatrics which I had a terrible experiences there and the wait time would go over 50 minutes so coming to cooks was a breath of fresh air!
