Hi, I'm Lori! After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington, I began working as a "baby nurse" at Cook Children's Medical Center in 1990. After working on the medical/surgical floor for a few years, and with much encouragement from my mother, I returned to UTA to complete a Master of Science in Nursing and became a pediatric nurse practitioner in 1994. I began my nurse practitioner career with one of the first Cook Children's Physician Network primary care practices, under the expert mentorship of Dr. John H. Dalton in 1995. I love interacting with children, helping parents navigate the often complex medical and developmental needs of their children, and watching them grow and change over time. One of the most rewarding things in pediatric practice is watching a baby grow to adulthood, be happy and successful and then seeing them bring their own children to the clinic. I've benefitted over the years from many supportive and intelligent preceptors and have been a preceptor to many new employees and students throughout my time at Cook Children's. I've served as my office's CPR instructor and managed the moderate complexity lab in my clinic for over 25 years. I've been married to my husband, Richard, for 34 years, and have two of the most perfect daughters and one grandson, whom I completely adore! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, working out, shopping with my daughters, traveling, getting tough stains out of laundry, exploring the backyard with my grandson and party planning.
