Meet Dr. Akemi Watkins

I went to medical school at UT Southwestern Medical Center and completed my adult psychiatry residency at the UCLA Semel Institute of Neurosciences. I completed my child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at UT Austin Dell Medical School.

I currently serve as the psychiatrist in the partial hospitalization program. I truly enjoy teaching and serve as a physician academic liaison, an associate professor of medicine at TCU Burnett School of Medicine, Texas A&M School of Medicine, and at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. I am also clinical faculty at the JPS Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my daughters, cooking and playing tennis.
