Meet Dr. William Fogarty

Hi, I'm Dr. Fogarty. I've always been curious about science and passionate about helping others, values that were nurtured by my family from a young age. Surrounded by relatives in the medical field, I was inspired early on to follow a similar path. In medical school, I discovered a special interest in the heart and a deep connection with caring for children and their families. That combination set me on the path to becoming a pediatric cardiologist, with additional training in pediatric and congenital interventional cardiology.

What I love about my work is the variety-treating everything from straightforward heart conditions to the most complex cases. In the cardiac catheterization lab, I perform both diagnostic and interventional procedures, but I also treasure the moments outside of the lab-sitting down with families, answering their questions, and helping them feel at ease. For me, one of the greatest joys is walking alongside patients as they grow, sometimes caring for them from their very first days of life into adulthood.

Always looking ahead, I embrace new technologies and techniques that continue to push the field forward. I also value the teamwork that goes into every procedure, working closely with my cath lab colleagues to give each child the best care possible.

When not at the hospital, I enjoy life in Fort Worth with my wife-who's also a physician at Cook Children's-and our two daughters. Whether we're trying new restaurants, spending time at local parks or finding fun family adventures around town, we love exploring together. As a big sports fan, I especially enjoy watching ice hockey, football and college basketball.
