Meet Dr. Chelsee Greer
At a young age, my pediatrician instilled in me a love of medicine. He was such a caring and kind physician, I actually enjoyed going to the doctor. As a teenager, my own experience with childhood cancer further shaped my path. I was born and raised in West Texas and completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Texas in Austin. I attended medical school at UNTHSC in Fort Worth, completed my pediatric residency at Dell Children's in Austin and my hematology/oncology fellowship at UTSW in Dallas. During fellowship, my research focused on our survivorship population and identifying new methods to aid in earlier detection of possible health consequences from the therapies they received. My hope is that earlier detection and interventions would allow our patients to have better health and more easily attain their life goals. While I enjoyed my research, my real passion is patient care. The relationships that are built between a physician and the families they have the privilege to care for are the reason I chose this career. In my spare time, I enjoy travel, running, cooking, spending time with my husband and our two dogs. Oh and football, Hook Em! My experiences and training have provided me with the tools needed to care for complex patients. I am excited and grateful to have the opportunity to serve the families of DFW and West Texas.
