Meet Dr. Stacey VanVliet
Stacey VanVliet, M.D., has known she would be a Pediatrician since elementary school. She's always loved children, and believes that there is no better job than helping them grow into healthy adults.
Dr. VanVliet chose hospital medicine so she could help kids get through some of their most vulnerable times and toughest illnesses. She loves being able to spend as much time as she needs with her patients, as well as working as team with the wonderful support staff at Cook Children's Medical Center.
She started at Cook Children's in 2015, and since that time has worked hard to make a stay at Cook Children's hospital the best and most comfortable it can be.
Dr. VanVliet is particularly passionate about bronchiolitis, and has helped start a program providing free nasal aspirators "nose suckers" to parents in need. She also helped open a free follow-up clinic for children with bronchiolitis who have been discharged from the hospital, since they may still feel unwell for several days.
Dr. VanVliet spends half of her time teaching students at the TCU and University of North Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine, helping support the next generation of empathetic doctors. She loves learning from her patients and students.
Dr. VanVliet is a Mom to 2 children, who've taught her a whole new side of pediatrics! In her spare time she likes to paint, play soccer, and garden. She enjoys cooking and is always looking to try new foods. She loves to travel and see the world with her husband and children.
