Meet Dr. Stephanie Goldstein
Early on in medical school, I knew that I wanted to go into orthopedic surgery. We in orthopedics have the best job in the world- we get to help people get back to doing the things that they love to do! Within a short time of starting residency, I knew that I wanted to focus on pediatric orthopedics specifically. Children can have a wide range of unique orthopedic conditions, but what I really loved was the chance to work as a team with patients and families to select the treatment that was right for them and support them along the way.
I grew up in Plano, TX and graduated from Plano West Senior High School. I was a competitive gymnast throughout middle and high school and continued as part of the Division I gymnastics team at Yale University, where I served as captain my senior year. I returned to Texas to earn my medical degree at UT Southwestern. I completed my orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and then an additional year of subspecialty training in pediatric orthopedics at Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. In residency, I was twice awarded Orthopedic Resident Educator of the Year for my commitment to teaching and education.
I had a number of aches and pains that brought me in to see the orthopedic surgeon during my gymnastics career and I soon learned that the best doctors were the ones who listened to me and cared about my goals. Now that I am in the doctor's shoes, I strive to do that with all of my patients and families- really listen to what is important to them and make sure their goals are at the forefront as we decide treatment together. I am always happy to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with other physicians for my patients with more complex underlying conditions. I am a member of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America and attend national conferences to ensure that I am up-to-date on the newest advancements and developments in pediatric orthopedics.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our young son. Becoming a parent helped me gain even more empathy and respect for my patients' families, as parenthood brings me boundless joy as well as humbling experiences every day. I also enjoy baking, spending time outdoors, and crossword puzzles.

We arrived an hour early for my son's appointment and was expecting to sit in the waiting room until our appointment time. Instead, we were very quickly called back and were able to see the Doctor shortly after. She addressed all of our concerns and provided additional information. This appointment was initially for a second opinion but the experience was so positive that we will be switching all of our sons orthopedic treatment to Dr. Goldstein.

Dr. Goldstein herself was amazing. There's few doctors that just seem MADE to be the dr with a complex kid and she's one of them. My son comes with interesting issues but she didn't bat an eye. I felt so comfy with putting my trust in her and I don't say that lightly.
