Meet Dr. Adam Schwalm

I'm a board-certified pediatrician, passionate about caring for newborns, children and teenagers. I grew up in Collin County and I'm honored to take care of the children in the area that I call home.

After completing my undergraduate degree at Abilene Christian University, I earned a medical degree at Ohio University, and then returned to Texas to complete my residency in pediatrics at Texas Tech.

Since completing residency, I've worked in outpatient pediatric clinics and taken care of acutely ill newborns and children in a hospital setting. The best part about my job is forming relationships not only with my patients, but also with the families who love them so much.

I'm married with two beautiful, energetic daughters who keep me busy outside of the clinic. It isn't always easy having a husband and dad as a doctor, and I'm so grateful for their support and encouragement. Without them, I wouldn't be able to do what I love everyday. My family and I are always looking for new ways to be involved in our community and we love connecting with other families whenever we can.

Every time I drive through McKinney, Melissa and Anna, I'm shocked by how much the area has grown. But even in this growing city, my goal is to keep a small-town pediatrician feel; where families feel welcome to bring up any question or concern they might have.     Dr. Adam Schwalm was extremely attentive and showed a genuine interest in understanding my child's development and daily activities. He asked thoughtful questions to learn more about our child so that he could guide us on how best to support his growth and development. What stood out the most was the time he spent with us during the visit-he never made us feel rushed and was very patient while listening to our concerns and observations. His approach made us feel very comfortable and reassured, and we truly appreciated the care and attention he provided.

    This was my first experience with the cook children's Anna Tx location and I have to say it was hands down the best.

    My children usually see Dr. [...] in McKinney, but we scheduled with Dr. Schwalm this time due to needing a sooner appointment. The office was very accommodating and able to get us in quickly. Dr. Schwalm was excellent-he made [...] feel comfortable and took the time to discuss future options that could really benefit him. Evan had such a positive experience that I plan to switch his care to Dr. Schwalm, as I feel the male-to-male dynamic is helpful for him. I will continue keeping my daughters with Dr. [...]. Overall, a great experience and we're very grateful.
