Christina Sherrod, MD, FAAP knew she wanted to be a pediatrician when she was twelve. Between her love of reading, math, science, babysitting and the inspiration of her own pediatrician, she felt a calling to help kids grow up healthy and strong.
Dr. Sherrod attended the University of Texas at Austin for undergraduate training (Hook 'em horns) and then completed medical school at UT Southwestern in Dallas in 2004. After three years in pediatric residency at the University of California in San Francisco, she returned to Texas to practice rural medicine. For eight years she treated families both in and out of the hospital, caring for kids from newborns all the way through high school graduation. During this time she married and became a mother to two beautiful children, Gavin and Nori, who inspire her daily to be a better pediatrician and mother.
In 2019, Dr. Sherrod returned to the Dallas/Fort Worth area with her family, working at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children where she cared for medically complex children who were undergoing orthopedic surgery. After learning much from amazing colleagues there, she realized that her true passion remains in primary care. She joined the Cook Children's family in Southlake and is looking forward to watching families grow while helping them through both the ups and downs of parenting. She welcomes families who have questions about development, breast feeding, growth, nutrition, exercise, education and parenting. She also feels comfortable treating patients with developmental issues, complex medical problems, learning problems, and ADHD.
In addition to her love of pediatrics, Dr. Sherrod enjoys spending her free time with her family. Together they cook, ride bikes, play games, worship with their church family, and explore the great outdoors.
