Meet Dr. Hannah C. Tak
Hannah C. Tak, M.D., was born in New York City and raised in Houston, Texas. She received her undergraduate degree in Microbiology at the University of Texas in Austin, where she graduated Cum Laude. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas at Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Tak moved back to Houston for her pediatric residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. In her last year as a pediatric resident, Dr. Tak was part of the disaster ride-out team at Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital during Hurricane Harvey. After residency, she remained in Houston as a pediatric hospitalist at the Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center. Dr. Tak has been an outpatient pediatrician since 2019 when she moved to DFW. She joined Cook Children's Pediatrics Plano in August 2021.
Dr. Tak has always loved children and chose pediatrics because she feels she can really make a difference in each child's life. She believes in the importance of educating families so they can provide the best care for their little ones. As a mother herself, she understands the insecurities and fears of raising a child and desires to empower parents to feel confident in caring for their children and to help their families thrive. She thoroughly enjoys the smiles and hugs that are the perks of being a pediatrician and looks forward to the privilege of being a part of each child's life as they grow and develop.
She is also an Outpatient Breastfeeding Champion and feels passionate about helping mothers navigate their breastfeeding journey, whether it consists of exclusively breastfeeding, exclusively pumping, or giving breast milk and formula.
In her free time, Dr. Tak enjoys watching Friends and Downton Abbey reruns, traveling, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
I am fluent in Korean and accept Korean speaking patient families in my practice.
