Meet Dr. Hector Grajeda
I knew when I was in elementary school that I would grow up to become a doctor. It was during medical school, when I did rotations in each specialty, that pediatrics became my passion.
As a pediatrician, one of the things I value most is having a close connection with my patients and their families. I enjoy having at least a little moment of playtime with the little ones, and chatting with older kids and teens. I also care for children with asthma and ADHD, two conditions that I feel confident treating them well. A key part of my practice is to explain to parents and patients about findings, plans, treatments and preventative measures. Getting to know them and seeing them grow and develop into healthy young adults is very rewarding.
Of course, one of the best rewards is when a child tells their mom: "This is my favorite doctor," or when a parent tells me that their child was upset because they didn't bring them to the clinic to see Dr. Grajeda.
Working at Northside Clinic is great! It's like a calling. I appreciate my patients and their families very much. And our staff members are the best. Everyone is really nice and well prepared. I'm really lucky to do what I do, with the people I'm surrounded by.
Outside my work, my wife and I absolutely love family life and always look forward to spending time together. We are the proud parents of 4 awesome children and - so far - grandparents of 4! Yeah!
We also like going to the movie theaters, we enjoy tasty food, folklore dances, musicals, listening to podcasts - and I still like to play basketball.
Hearing a 5 year old say 'Mom, I like my doctor.' is like a trophy for me. I love what I do. I truly enjoy taking care of children. I try to make a difference in the lives of the people I serve. I treat my patients the same way I would treat my own children; and I treat everyone the same way I would like to be treated. I always take time to listen, examine my patients well, and explain to parents the diagnosis and the plan of care. Working at Northside Clinic is great! It's like a calling. I appreciate my patients and their families very much. And, our staff members are really nice and well prepared.
