Meet Dr. Jonathan Corpuz
I was once told by someone that they would never go into pediatrics because they wouldn't want to endure the heartbreak of caring for a sick child. Those who become pediatricians are the ones willing to endure that heartbreak in order to have the opportunity to positively influence the life of a child and to help foster the next generation. This is what truly excites me about being a pediatrician.
I was born and raised in the DFW area and went on to attended The University of Texas at Austin where I graduated with a degree in Microbiology. I then when to medical school at Texas Tech University at El Paso where I would earn my Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees. I then completed my pediatric residency training at Baylor Scott and White in Temple, TX before finally moving back home.
I actually didn't know I wanted to become a pediatrician before starting medical school. However, throughout my education and training, I've had several experiences that not only led to a strong desire to work with children but provided me with the tools to serve my community as a general pediatrician. In undergrad I was a "Mad Scientist" and conducted experiments in after-school science classes in the Austin area. I also took part in international public health projects in Honduras, Nicaragua, and Ghana throughout undergrad and medical school, where a majority of my time was spent teaching children important sanitation and hygiene practices. During residency, I took part in a free clinic that aimed to serve homeless and uninsured children from across central Texas. Through these experiences, I learned the importance of education and that healthy habits taught at a young age could lead to a lifetime of good health. I also learned what barriers to health children and their families face and ways to overcome those barriers. But most importantly, I learned that I truly love working with children and cannot see myself doing anything else in life.
I am excited to have an opportunity to have a positive impact on my community and its children. As a pediatrician, I wish to serve as a voice and an advocate for children and ensure that the family, community, and political environment is conducive to a healthy and happy life for them. I aim to treat my patients as a whole, focusing not only on the physical symptoms of diseases but also on the mental and social factors affecting them.
When not in clinic, I enjoy trying new restaurants and recipes with my wife, spending time with my three dogs, traveling to and exploring new destinations, kayaking, fishing, going to concerts and music festivals, and cheering on Dallas Stars hockey and Texas Longhorn football.

The staff is always amazing! Been coming here 21 years and even with transition of some Drs retiring and new coming on board, it has been a seamless transition. We absolutely love Dr. Corpuz!! He has been a blessing to us. How he talks to my teen and addresses her issues is amazing. We are navigating some difficult things and I am really thankful for Dr. Corpuz attentiveness and referrals.

I really appreciate being able to get in at the last minute. I picked up my son from school and noticed his coughing and runny nose were worse. I called the office around 3:45pm and was asked if we could be there by 4:15pm. We absolutely made it and we are so thankful for that appt.

My child was treated by Dr Corpuz for the first time. His regular doctor is Dr [...] but he was already gone for the day. Dr Corpuz was amazing. He asked my son specific questions about how he was feeling and where any pain was located. He was very personable and we never felt rushed. I know the office closes at 4:30 yet the staff and doctor never made us feel pressured with time constraints. I truly appreciate the visit and the kind staff. Thank you!
