Meet Dr. Juan T. Cocjin
Growing up in the Phiilippines I knew that I wanted to become a doctor. It was during my residency, seeing the kids, I chose to specialize in pediatrics. In 1995 I began practicing pediatric medicine, and I've never looked back. In fact, I've been privileged to practice in many capacities, from general pediatrics to semi-academic pediatrics at UT Health Science Center in Tyler Texas. I've also worked in pediatric urgent and emergent care, so it's fair to say that I've seen just about everything.
I joined Cook Children's Neighborhood Clinics in 2017, as a full-time pediatrician. On occasion, I also work as an emergency doctor in Cook Children's Emergency Department. This combined experience continually helps me to become a better doctor. I enjoy the mix of patients I see both in the Neighborhood Clinic and in the ED, and I've become a great listener when parents have concerns. I've learned that it's incredibly important to take the time to answer questions and explain things in ways both parents and kids can understand.
Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my family.

I don't remember the Male dr's name, but I love the fact that he was considerate of my teenage daughter asking her personally about her comforts on certain things that need to take place during well check exam he gave her an option verses him just doing his job as a Dr. He made her feel comfortable. He was very mindful of her feeling and respected how she felt.
