Meet Dr. Lanna McClain

I can't imagine a better career than being a pediatrician. For me, the best part of practicing pediatrics is seeing children grow from infancy to adulthood and making positive impacts upon that life. Of course, the hugs I get from my patients are great too!

As a mom (and now a Nana!), I really do understand all that parents navigate these days and nights – and it's all from tummy aches and sniffles to anxiety and artificial intelligence concerns. And for me it's the utmost importance to listen to the concerns of both parents and children alike. When diagnosing conditions and developing care plans, I always ask myself what I would do if this was my child or grandchild. At the end of the day, we are all working on raising children who are healthy, happy, resilient and full of hope and joy!

I am a west Texas girl from Odessa and received both my undergraduate and medical degrees from Texas A&M University (Whoop!!). I've been in pediatrics since 1996 and helped open the original Cook Children's Pediatrics in Burleson in 2010 and our brand-new location in 2026. Outside the office, I enjoy reading with my book club (I particularly enjoy science fiction, psychological thrillers and historical novels), camping/hiking/kayaking/stand-up paddleboarding/boating/fishing with my husband and trailing with my Bronco!

Dr. McClain is the best doctor and spends time with my son when he is sick. She does not rush us out the door if we have questions, but instead she talks with me until I understand. We are blessed to have her as our pediatrician! – Patient family

    Dr McClain was very thorough in explaining the importance of the HPV vaccine. I was on the fence about giving it to my daughter but after she educated my daughter and I we decided to get the vaccine. I'd would like to thank her for always taking the time to answer my questions and concerns.

    Dr McClain has been seeing my child for about 15 years. Through the years she has been very attentive and has been a trusted advisor to us. We are sad that this is our last visit since my daughter will be aging out. Thank you for your service and care.

    Dr. McClain has been our pediatrician for my child's whole life, and I wish she could see her into adulthood. She is so attentive to detail, she caught a major side effect of another medication he was on, which could have become dire if we had not made the connection and sought further testing/treatment. I will forever be grateful for her care.
