Meet Dr. Lisa M. Guthrie
My name is Dr. Lisa Guthrie. It was after medical school at UT Southwestern that I chose pediatrics over pathology and internal medicine. I completed my internship and residency through the University of Tennessee at Memphis Le Bonheur Children's Hospital and I've been practicing general pediatrics ever since. For me, pediatrics offers the ideal holistic approach to medical treatment. Pediatricians must see things from both a child's and adult's perspective.
I moved to Fort Worth in 1997 and it has been amazing to see this community grow, and I can now say I've seen a generation of children grow up and become adults! It's been rewarding to see a few of them become parents themselves - and entrust the care of their children to me! I enjoy getting to know families over time, and being there when a diagnostician is needed for concerning illnesses. I'm glad to say that most kids are healthy, but when a serious illness occurs, I acknowledge that our most important job is getting ill children to the specialists and resources that they need.
My husband Bill and I have raised two girls. Raising children has definitely helped me to be a better pediatrician. Our family enjoys visiting relatives in the Rio Grande Valley (my childhood home), listening to music and attending live theater performances. I'm an avid supporter of live music and the performing arts in Fort Worth. One of my most rewarding volunteer experiences has been serving on the board and providing medical consultation for Kids Who Care, Inc., a local nonprofit children's theater group.
I'm honored to have been named to Fort Worth Texas Magazine's Top Docs list and Fort Worth Child Magazine's Mom Approved Doctor list several times over the last 22 years. I look forward to serving Tarrant County's children for many more years!!

Everyone from check in to check out very friendly, helpful and it's easy to get in out! Dr.Guthrie always listens and is never rushed, she shows interest in her patients asking questions about summer, sports etcwe have been seeing Dr.Guthrie since our son was born, we will be sad when he ages out of the practice.

We have been patients of Dr Guthrie since 2019 and she is a great doctor! I'm very pleased with the response when I contact via phone or portal about a concern regarding my kids. She saw my two youngest from birth until adulthood . My youngest is now 17 . She is always so professional and takes her time to listen and address our concerns . She always speaks to them and makes sure they are heard. Couldn't ask for a better pediatrician.

Dr Guthrie is always SO wonderful. We appreciate how down to earth she is, very compassionate and willing to talk things through about our kiddo and concerns we have. Our daughter loves her too! The nursing staff is always so kind and thorough with our visits too! They show interest and talk to our daughter even as a toddler. It is clear the staff loves what they do!

I wish I got her name, but Dr. Guthrie's nurse from this visit was AMAZING. She was so wonderful with my daughter and my daughter had such a good experience and had fun during her check up. The nurse was so sweet, fun, and genuine. Some people are born to take care of babies and kids and she is certainly one of them. I'm so thankful for people like her.
