Meet Dr. Ramon Esparza
I'm originally from El Paso, the middle child of Mexican immigrants. I attended UT Austin and then went to medical school at UTMB in Galveston. It was at UTMB where I decided to pursue a career in Pediatrics during my 3rd year. One of the main reasons for choosing Pediatrics was because you can make a huge impact in a young person's life. I enjoy treating my patients and seeing them improve.
Galveston is also special to me since I met my wife at UTMB. We liked the coastal area so much that we moved to Corpus Christi. We were in Corpus for 5 years and 2 of those years I was an emergency room Pediatrician at Driscoll Children's Hospital. We moved to the Austin area once we started having a family of our own. We opened our own practice in Round Rock which we had for 17 years but had to close it due to COVID-19. For the past 3 years I worked at Austin Region Clinic in Pflugerville.
I have been practicing Pediatrics for 25 years. I treat patients from birth to 18 years of age. I see general pediatrics and some mental health (anxiety/depression/ADHD).

Dr. Esparza is awesome. He explained everything in great detail. He even drew a timeline picture on the patient bed paper and explained in further detail how the stomach flu virus has tricky ways of developing other symptoms within the next few days so that we may look out for.
