Meet Dr. Maria Victoria Talamo Guevara

Ever since Maria Victoria Talamo Guevara, M.D., was a little girl she knew she wanted to follow in her father's footsteps and one day become a "lung doctor." She always loved going with him to round on the weekends, and playing doctor after softball practice.

Dr. Talamo Guevara grew up in Caracas, Venezuela. She earned her medical degree in her home country. In 2009, she moved to the U.S. to fulfill her dreams, completing her pediatric residency and later her Pediatric Pulmonary Fellowship at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.

In her free time, Dr. Talamo Guevara likes cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.

Probably one of the best experiences I have had with a doctor (and I've had a lot). Right off the bat the nurse taking vitals offered to carry my purse and diaper bag to the room, which is a huge relief to a mom trying to wrangle a 2 year old. Once I was able to meet with the doctor Dr. Talamo Guevara I was very pleased with the visit. She was familiar with my sons history and spent quite a while in the room with me going over all of the past issues he has had and explaining every detail of his care. I felt very good leaving this appointment. – Patient family
