Parul V. Martin, MD

I have been practicing Urgent Care Pediatrics since 2006 and children have taught me to live in the moment and enjoy the small things in life. I can't imagine a more fulfilling career. Even when they're feeling bad, a smile can do wonders, helping them feel more secure, and when they smile back I know I've made a connection. Children frame my world with colors and brightness and hope. Silly jokes, goofiness, all around fun, laughter and reading ... those are the basics of my daily life. Throw in smiles, kindness and chocolate, and I consider that a day well lived.

My weekends and holidays are spent with family, friends and my dog, Vannie. I also enjoy traveling, meditation, working out, volunteering and learning how to prevent planticide of my patio garden.

Reading is my passion. My Mom tells me that I started reading at age 2 and I always had a book in my hands. She had to stop me from reading during meal times and chores. I grew up in Abilene and my library card was well worn.
