As part of our promise to improve the health of every child in our region, Cook Children's is pleased to partner with school nurses. It is our hope that together we can meet the region's growing pediatric health needs. Below you will find health resources and information to help you meet your everyday challenges.
Cook Children's offers summer symposiums and webcasts in the spring and fall specifically for the school nurse. To view or register for any of our upcoming school nurse activities or other continuing education programs, visit our professional courses page. We also offer community courses to meet the needs of children in our region. To learn more about all Cook Children's is doing to improve child health in our region, go to The Center for Children's Health website.
The school nurse's office can be a hectic place. Quick access to useful references can help school nurses provide appropriate and expedient care. Cook Children's is providing these references to assist school nurses in the care of children. To access these resources, go to School Nurse Resources.
If you would like to receive notifications about upcoming school nurse continuing education activities, please contact Breanna.Anderson@cookchildrens.org.
Families in need don't always know where to go for available non-emergency health and human services in their community. School nurses play a key role in helping students and families find and access community resources. Cook Children's is pleased to provide you with documents and websites to assist you in that role. Go to Student and Family Resources.
The Cook Children's School Nurse Advisory Council was created in collaboration with area school health providers to improve the health of every child in our region through the prevention and treatment of illness, disease, and injury. The school nurse advisory council meets on a biannual basis, if you are interested in participating, please contact Breanna.Anderson@cookchildrens.org.
