High-quality care for at-risk pregnant women in West Texas is now available at Cook Children's Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) center in Abilene.

We specialize in caring for women with high-risk pregnancies caused by existing conditions, family history, multiple babies or past complications. Our expert team provides the highest level of care for mom and baby to help ensure a safe delivery.

If a concern is found during your first visit, we'll create a care plan tailored to your needs, coordinating with your delivery hospital, specialists and a MFM team member if needed.

Who should see the MFM team?

Cook Children's MFM team sees expectant moms if they're at risk for pregnancy-related complications, including:

• Preterm labor
• Preeclampsia
• Twin/triplet/quadruplets pregnancies
• Fetuses at risk because of the mom's underlying health condition, like heart disease, hypertension or diabetes

Timely care: We offer virtual video visits for certain appointments and can answer your questions by phone.

Coordinated specialty services: If your child has a more complex medical need requiring additional specialists, we can refer you to nationally recognized teams in the Cook Children's network. We partner with more than 60 other specialty clinics to ensure every child gets the care they need.
