About Cook Children's
Knowing every child's life is sacred, we promise to improve the well-being of every child in our care and our communities.
To live up to this promise, Cook Children's combines the art of caring with the use of leading technology and extraordinary collaboration to provide exceptional care for every child, every day.
Our not-for-profit organization includes our medical center, physician network, home health company, surgery centers, health plan, health services, and health foundation. With more than 60 primary, specialty and urgent care locations throughout Texas, families can access our top-ranked specialty programs and network of services to meet the unique needs of their child.
For more than 100 years we've worked to improve the health of children from across our primary service area of Collin, Denton, Hood, Johnson, Parker, Tarrant and Wise counties. We combine the art of caring with leading technology and extraordinary collaboration to provide exceptional care for every child. This has earned Cook Children's a strong, far-reaching reputation with patients traveling from around the country and the globe to receive life-saving pediatric care. Cook Children's is honored to continually receive recognition for our outstanding efforts and outcomes in pediatric health care.
At Cook Children's, we believe that childhood should be simple. But when things get complicated, we also believe that every child has the right to the very best care possible.
Cook Children's status as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization allows us to focus on investing in providing exceptional health care, rather than delivering high investor returns.
Exceptional care is about medical expertise, advanced technology and research, but it's also about working together with our communities and partners to improve the health of every child in our region. As a not-for-profit organization, all of our stakeholders benefit from Cook Children's efforts which include a focus on:
- The prevention of illness, disease and injury through the collaborative efforts of our Community Health Outreach programs.
- Providing access to health-related services for all families in our region.
- Strengthening families and communities through education, resources and outreach.
- Partnering with community, business and civic leaders, educators and social service organizations to address the needs of families in our community.
- Taking an active role in pediatric health initiatives at the local, state and national level.
As a nonprofit, all of Cook Children's resources go toward supporting these goals and our Promise to improve the health of every child through the prevention and treatment of illness, disease and injury.
