Job skills training

The Las Vegas Trail training program partners with Tarrant County College and Workforce Solutions. Teaching practical skills for customer service-related positions in health care. Transportation, mentorship and paid internships available.

Demonstration kitchen

A new space where parents, children, and community members can practice their cooking skills and learn more about healthy eating. There will be weekly free community nutrition classes hosted by registered dietitians and community partners.

Onsite pantry in partnership with WestAid, providing families with access to fresh, nutritious foods, including fruits, vegetables, dairy, and pantry staples, to help support their health and well-being.

Free community classes for everyone

Our health education classes are open to everyone in the community! Whether or not you’re a Cook Children’s or JPS patient, you’re welcome to join. Empower yourself and your family with practical knowledge—from CPR and healthy eating to school success and chronic disease management.

Class topics include:

  • Healthy lifestyles, nutrition and gardening
  • Asthma education
  • CPR for the community
  • Parenting support
  • Injury prevention and medication safety
  • Adult health talks (diabetes, heart health, women’s health and more)

30 Days of Wellness at the neighborhood health center in Las Vegas Trail.

Join us for a full month of free wellness activities, education and family-friendly celebrations designed to help our community thrive. Every weekday (Aug. 6 - Sept. 5), you'll find hands-on demos, health screenings, safety workshops, nutrition classes and more, all hosted by Cook Children's and trusted local partners. These are drop-in events and no registration is required.
