The Cook Children's Health Care System marketing and communications interns gain experience growing their marketing and project management skills as they learn from an experienced team collaborating on a variety of projects across Cook Children's network and local community.
At Cook Children's I coordinated projects across departments and partners including Primary Care, Urgent Care, our branded gift shop, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Cook Children’s Health Foundation, Public Relations, Health Plan Insurance, Medical Research, Child Life services, several medical specialty departments, Nursing, and the NICU. Project management spanned comprehensive campaigns such as our Prosper, TX market expansion which required:
- Market research
- Web content development & publishing
- Analytics & performance tracking
- Google search ads
- Social media advertising
- Copy editing
- Print materials
- Event support
I developed skills in marketing strategy, corporate communications, web publishing, and analytics under the mentorship of an award-winning, mission-driven team. With a reputation for attention to detail, quick learning, collaborative spirit, and a passion for creativity, I contributed to high-quality deliverables, built strong professional relationships, and became a trusted and integral team member.
Viggo has been an outstanding intern at Cook Children’s, bringing humor, warmth, and a strong work ethic to every project he’s been assigned. Quick to learn new skills and deploy them for our system (e.g. web design and publishing in our new CMS), he tackles challenges and delivers high-quality work with a positive attitude.
Viggo has been nothing short of exceptional during his time as our marketing department's spring and summer intern. He demonstrated the ability to follow directions with precision and attention to detail, ensuring every task was completed to the highest standard. Viggo willingly assisted with a wide variety of projects – print collateral, web edits, copy editing, project management, marketing events – often going above and beyond what was expected; his collaborative spirit made him a reliable and highly valued asset to the team. During his time at Cook Children's, Viggo became an honorary member of the department, making a lasting, positive impact through his hard work, enthusiasm and genuine willingness to help wherever needed.
Viggo is a pleasure to work with. Not only does he bring a fresh perspective, he asks thoughtful questions that add depth to the projects he works on. His can-do attitude is contagious and he's very efficient and communicative. Viggo is an excellent team member and hard worker, capable of both collaborating and spearheading projects independently. Viggo is an incredible asset for any team he's a part of!
