Meet Dr. Chanthu Pillai

Dr. Chanthu Pillai has called Texas home since the age of three, spending most of his life in the Houston area. Although he's looking forward to leaving the traffic and humidity behind, his dedication to caring for Texas children and their families remains at the heart of his practice.

Dr. Pillai graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston before earning his medical degree from McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. He completed his pediatric residency at Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin before returning to UTHealth Houston to complete his fellowship in pediatric endocrinology.

Inspired by a lifelong passion for caring for children, Dr. Pillai discovered his calling in pediatric endocrinology during medical school. He was drawn not only to the intellectual challenge of the specialty but also to the privilege of building lasting relationships with patients and their families.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Pillai enjoys distance running, exploring the latest technology and listening to audiobooks. An avid reader, he sets an ambitious goal of finishing nearly 100 books each year.
