Meet Dr. Amani Terrell
Amani Terrell, M.D., FAAP, was born and raised in Fort Worth, TX. As the daughter of two doctors, she was fortunate to have role models who encouraged her to push past racial and social stereotypes in order to achieve academic and professional success.
She knew she wanted to go into the medical field as a teenager. She was a student athlete in high school and held the 5A state record in the 3200 meter run for several years. In college, her desire to become a doctor helped her make the difficult decision to decline several athletic scholarship offers in order to focus on her academic studies.
Dr. Terrell graduated with honor from the University of Texas at Austin. She then attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. There, she developed a passion for caring for children after going on a mission trip to Juarez, Mexico, where she helped provide medical care to children and families, some of whom had never seen a doctor. Dr. Terrell then completed her pediatric residency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital and returned promptly thereafter to Fort Worth to work as a hospitalist at Cook Children's Medical Center. After 6 years of hospital medicine, Dr. Terrell transitioned to primary care.
Dr. Terrell loves what she does and feels blessed to be able care for patients and their families, as well as learn from them as they grow and develop.
On a personal note, Dr. Terrell still enjoys running. On any given day, you might see her running around her neighborhood with her dog and her 2 kids.
Dr. Terrell is the best doctor. She seems to just know all about us and it's a very personable thing and she really is thorough with how she explains things and she listens to feedback and my kids love her. They ... they really love her especially during the physicals and things. She makes them feel comfortable. They trust her. She's just amazing. I'm so so glad that we have her. – Patient family

Dr. Terrell & Heather are amazing! Representation matters & I specifically looked for a doctor that not only looked like me but would take my questions and concerns seriously. Dr. Terrell has exceeded my expectations and its always a pleasure when we have appointments, she's very knowledgeable & personable. So much so she even recognized my son on TV for his birthday acknowledgement on the news. I hope she will continue to be their doctor until they've graduated from pediatrician to physician.

The two medical assistants were very friendly and thorough. They made my daughter feel very comfortable and their interactions were very good. Dr. Terrell is an amazing provider. She took the needed time for my daughters appointment. We did not feel rushed or like she was too busy. She was very thorough and detailed. We felt very comfortable and my daughter really enjoyed the visit. Dr. Terrell took the time to communicate with my daughter about different things she was dealing with as a 16 year old. It really meant alot to both of us. The visit was very meaningful and Dr. Terrell just simply listened. Health care has really evolved and it's good to know that we still have good providers that care about the well-being of their patients. The front desk staff were very efficient and friendly. We got checked in and out without any issues.

Dr Terrell is the best. She is kind, thoughtful, she takes time to listen and we never feel rushed. She actually cares about my kiddos and family. She's thorough with her responses to our questions and I feel at ease and trust her judgement. [...] is also amazing! She's always smiling and upbeat and very good at her job. She's quick and efficient without the rush. We moved 2 years ago so it sometimes takes 35-45 min to get to the office but for me and my kids it's worth the drive to see someone we are comfortable with for the care of my kids. My kids adore both Dr Terrell and [...]!

All staff were friendly, helpful, and showed concern and compassion for [...]. Dr. Terrell listened to and met each of his needs, especially regarding getting him some water and prescribing medication as tablets instead of a suspension.
