Hi! I'm Dr. Nasir. I grew up in Fairfax, Va., just outside Washington D.C. My journey to becoming a pediatrician started early in medical school when I volunteered at an afterschool program for children battling cancer. I'll never forget their laughter and resilience. They had this incredible ability to find joy and hope, even in the toughest times. Each child I met inspired me with their strength and spirit, igniting my passion for pediatrics and reinforcing my desire to support children during their most vulnerable moments.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from George Mason University before obtaining my medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. I then moved to Texas, where I completed my residency in pediatrics at Children's Health/UT Southwestern. During my pediatrics training, I found immense joy in building lasting relationships with families and witnessing the growth and progress of the children I cared for which solidified my decision to go to into general pediatrics. The opportunity to provide preventive care and educate families about health resonated deeply with me, especially after I had my own son during residency.
Navigating motherhood allowed me to gain a profound understanding of the joys and struggles families face every day. It taught me the importance of empathy, patience, and support - qualities I strive to embody in my practice. Whether it's supporting parents through breastfeeding, navigating the challenges of potty training, or guiding families during the often tumultuous teenage years, I'm here for both the kids and the parents. I strive to provide a safe space where families can share their concerns, celebrate their victories and milestones, and feel empowered in their roles.
Outside of work, you'll often find me exploring different playgrounds, restaurants and coffee shops around DFW with my husband and son. I also love to cook, bake and try new recipes. My husband and I have fallen in love with our community in North Texas, and we're thrilled to call it our home. I look forward to serving the Allen community for years to come!
