Meet Dr. Aarusha Jana Das

Dr. Das loves the lungs! Early in medical school, she was drawn to pediatric pulmonary medicine as it combines the best patient population with diverse medical conditions and physiology. Through her advanced training, she saw how many of her patients' medical complexities were associated with sleep, prompting her to pursue a fellowship in pediatric sleep medicine.

She attended the University of California at Berkeley for her undergraduate studies before returning to Texas for medical school at University of Texas San Antonio, Long School of Medicine. She then completed her pediatric residency and a chief resident year at University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas where she fell in love with the DFW area. She then completed a pediatric pulmonary fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Following this, she completed a combined adult and pediatric sleep medicine fellowship at Boston Childrens, Beth Israel Medical Center, and Harvard Medical School. After fellowship, Dr. Das joined faculty at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Soon after, she realized she sorely missed warm weather and breakfast tacos and decided to join Cook Children's Hospital.

When not at work, she enjoys gardening and hanging out with her family and rescue dogs.
