Meet Dr. Monal Patel

Dr. Monal Patel's interest in pediatrics started at a young age, growing up in a large family caring for younger siblings and cousins.

Dr. Patel is a board-certified pediatric pulmonologist. She attended medical school at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY. After completing her Pediatrics Residency at Maimonides Children's and Infant's Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Patel completed a fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Emory University School of Medicine. Before joining the Cook Children's team, Dr. Patel was on faculty at Cohen Children's Hospital-Northwell Health in New Hyde Park, New York.

Her clinical interests include chronic lung disease of prematurity, airway anomalies, asthma, chronic cough and cystic fibrosis.

In her clinical practice, Dr. Patel focuses on the importance of family-centered care, striving to treat every child and family for their own unique medical and personal needs. The courage and resilience of her patients and families inspire her to provide excellent care every day.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, learning about different countries and cultures, enjoys fitness and watching live music with her husband and daughter.

    Dr. Patel (and her staff) are absolutely amazing. The way in which they care for their patients is truly wonderful. Dr. Patel takes the time to build a relationship with her patients (and family). My daughter is not the easiest patient by any means and Dr. Patel never makes us feel like she's difficult. Dr. Patel goes out of her way to gain the trust of her patients and truly listens.

    We drive over an hour to see Dr.Patel and I don't mind. I wouldn't take my daughter anywhere else-even if it were closer to home. She's compassionate, caring, and extremely knowledgeable. I've always felt that she really cares about my daughter and she isn't just another patient. The entire staff at the clinic is friendly and pleasant. Wait times are always short.
