Meet Dr. Meredith S. Krebel
Meredith S. Krebel, M.D. had an interest in medicine from a young age, fascinated by learning about the heart in a school video, and seeing models of the heart her father, who was a physician, had on his desk. She worked as a camp counselor during the summers while in high school and college, so it was natural that she combined the two by specializing in pediatrics.
Dr. Krebel attended Baylor University for undergrad, then Southwestern Medical School at UT Health Science Center in Dallas. Residency was at Arkansas Children's Hospital/University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, as was her fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine. She enjoys taking care of children when they most need help in either the emergency department, or most recently in the urgent care centers.
With four children of her own, Dr. Krebel knows what it's like to care for children during an acute illness, and about those sleepless nights that are a part of parenthood. With almost 25 years working at Cook Children's she’s gained a lot of experience in caring for her patients and helping families learn more about caregiving when their children are ill.
In her spare time, Dr. Krebel, her physician husband and her youngest daughter attempt sprint triathlons.
