At Cook Children's, we promise to improve the well-being of every child in our care and our communities. Cook Children's Las Vegas Trail Demonstration kitchen aims to be a health and wellness space for the LVT community and Tarrant County residents. We look forward to hosting you, your family, and the community for community cooking classes and nutrition education. Community members, no matter their age or background are welcome! We can't wait to have you.

Services

We offer free community nutrition classes for kids, adults and families. Our classes feature various nutrition topics like:

  • Eating on a budget
  • Tips for feeding a picky eater
  • Preventing or managing chronic disease with nutrition
  • And more!

Class schedule

Classes are offered throughout the month on different days/times. Participants must register for classes to join.

How to Prepare for Your First Class

Questions

What ages are classes offered for?
Classes are offered for community members who are over 6 years old. Some classes may be for adults, kids only, or families. The class registration page will show the age requirements.

What do I wear to class?
There is no official dress code for participants. We do ask you wear clothing that is appropriate for cooking. Long pants and closed toe shoes are preferred in the kitchen.

Do I need to bring anything to class?
No! All materials needed for class will be provided by the class instructor.

Do the classes cost?
No! All classes offered are free.

What languages are the classes offered in?
Classes will be taught in either English or Spanish. The class registration page will show the language for that class.

Can I bring guests?
Only participants who pre-registered for the class are allowed to come. Please make sure everyone interested in coming registers for class.
