Preparing for a video visit

If you have an upcoming video visit with a Cook Children's provider, the following information can help to make your appointment go smoothly. 

Connecting with your physician:

Once you've clicked the link for your appointment, you're all set to connect with your physician via Epic Video Client! The following are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. Make sure you grant Epic Video Client access to your microphone and camera when prompted.
  2. A holding screen may appear with a "Waiting for others to connect" message until the physician joins.
  1. Once your meeting has started, make sure the audio and video controls are both active and not muted.
  2. If you are on a PC or laptop and not a mobile device, make sure you have the correct microphone and speaker selected. You can also test both speaker and microphone in advance of the video meeting.
