Meet Dr. Clifton Huang

Hi! I'm Dr. Clifton Huang, a pediatric gastroenterologist. I was born and raised in San Salvador, El Salvador, where I witnessed the country's long-standing civil war that damaged its health care and educational infrastructure. This experience inspired me to become a doctor.

I chose pediatrics because I love children, and I'm inspired by their innocence and resilience. Specifically, I enjoy gastroenterology because it often involves unique and complex conditions with multiple organs. The procedures usually involve a hands-on approach to treatment, and I get to diagnose and apply intricate therapeutics in a minimally invasive way. My areas of interest include advanced endoscopic procedures, endomicroscopy, pancreatic and biliary disorders, Crohn's disease and colitis.

Outside of medicine, I like to be physically active, spend time with my family, try new cuisines and travel. I'm married to my greatest supporter and beautiful wife of 25 years, Neny. We have three children – Marco, Vale and Victoria, as well as a springer spaniel.

I chose Cook Children's because everyone works hard to create amazing outcomes for each child. The patient experience is the most important thing, and we share the common goal of providing excellent care. I look forward to serving your family!

  • February 18, 2025

Dr Clifton Huang and his team are the absolute best! Dr. Huang's knowledge and expertise is the best among so many providers we have seen. He has great communication skills, his compassion and empathy for his clients is above the best I have ever seen. He has a strong ethical standard that most doctors do not want to find out what's wrong they have become complacent. His attitude and professionalism is above and beyond. He is committed to patient's safety and going the extra mile to help his clients. We are so pleased with him and he deserves to be honored for everything that he does. I rarely take time to answer these surveys but Dr Huang deserves an honorary reward! He has saved our child's life. We are so grateful and thankful for him and his entire team.
