New name, more community care
May 2023 | A major focus of Cook Children's is making the North Texas region one of the healthiest places to raise a child. One department that plays a major role in these efforts is the Center for Community Health. Formerly known as The Center for Children's Health, the newly announced name reflects the change and growth the center has experienced over the past 10 years. The new name fully encompasses the center's tremendous efforts within the eight county region we serve. Because the center's work includes children, teens, adolescents, parents and families, we felt the name change to the Center for Community Health was essential. Now, the name better reflects our system's culture platform, population we serve and has been adapted to reflect our focus on the whole family.
The center provides access to care including oral health, mental health, asthma, healthy lifestyles, parent support and injury prevention.
