As health care continues to rapidly advance, the Education Department plays a pivotal role in Cook Children's promise of improving the health status of all children.
We work to make sure that health care professionals at Cook Children's Health Care System – as well as the community – have the education, training and expertise needed to care for children. Joint Accreditation
Cook Children's is proud to be the fourth children's hospital in the country to be awarded Joint Accreditation effective December 2019. Joint Accreditation is a collaboration of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) that offers organizations the opportunity to be simultaneously accredited to provide medicine, pharmacy, and nursing continuing education activities through a single set of accreditation standards. Joint Accreditation is a leading model for interprofessional collaborative practice and establishes the standards for education providers to deliver interprofessional continuing education (IPCE) planned by the healthcare team for the healthcare team, while retaining the ability to offer discipline specific education. This distinction demonstrates our commitment to interprofessional education that leads to improved healthcare delivery and better patient outcomes.
