Cook Children's Pulmonology team in Prosper is honored to be recognized among the best in pediatric pulmonology and lung surgery. We diagnose, evaluate, treat, and develop management plans for patients with lung and respiratory conditions.

Cook Children's Pulmonology team provides specialized expertise in several areas:
- Cystic Fibrosis
- Asthma
- Sleep Center
- Chronic Lung Disease of Infancy (CDLI) or Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD)
- Exercise Respiratory Center (ExRC)
- Exercise-Induced Laryngeal Obstruction (EILO)
Evaluations, treatments and management plans for lung and respiratory diagnoses are provided for:
- Asthma
- Cystic Fibrosis
- Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD)
- Apnea or a lapse in breathing
- Obstructive airway problems
- Pulmonary hypertension
- Congenital deformities
- Apnea of infancy
- Sleep apnea (obstructive and central)
- Periodic limb movements
- REM behavior disorder (RBD)
- Narcolepsy
- Nocturnal seizures
- Respiratory failure/insufficiency (including insufficiency caused by neuromuscular disease)
Children with acute and chronic respiratory complications and in need of ventilators or other breathing assistance are cared for in Cook Children Medical Center's Transitional Care Unit. Clinicians there prepare children and their families for the transition from hospital to home.

Pediatric pulmonologist John Robertson, M.D., has created the new continuous laryngoscopy during exercise (CLE) test that is helping young athletes with exercise-induced laryngeal obstruction (EILO) breathe easier and safely return to their favorite sports.
