Congratulations to Our Great Nurses
September 2022 | Within the nursing community, receiving recognition as a Great 100 nurse is one of the most esteemed accomplishments. Nurses from across the Dallas-Fort Worth area are chosen by peers, patients, families and leaders to honor their contributions to patient care, research, leadership, education and community service. Chosen from the more than 50,000 nurses in the DFW metro area, these celebrants represent the important contributions of nursing through positive reinforcement of the profession as a scientific art and the recognition of those who exemplify excellence.
We are so proud to have two of our incredible team members selected as 2022 DFW Great 100 Nurses.
Christi Thornhill is the director of Cook Children's Trauma Program. Christi has worked as a nurses aid at a nursing home, an emergency nurse practitioner in a rural facility, a nurse practitioner for pediatric trauma and more. She is so respected in her field and has been a guest lecturer at universities and has spoken at conferences all over the United States.
Ineshia Simmons has only been at Cook Children's for a short period of time, but it was only recently that she learned her peers at her previous job had nominated her as one of the area's best nurses. Prior to coming to Cook Children's, Ineshia worked for 11 years at Medical City Arlington, where she was most recently the clinical nurse coordinator in the Mother Baby Unit.
