Strong Bond Creates Care for Fragile Babies
October 2022 | Babies born with the most complex medical needs, require the highest level of neonatal specialty care available. Until recently that meant some newborns in the West Texas region had to be transported hours away for treatment. However, two health care systems with a mission for providing quality care to the tiniest Texans, are helping families stay closer to home.
The relationship between Cook Children's and Covenant Children's began in 2018, bringing cardiology and neurology services to patients in the Lubbock area. The most recent collaboration between these two health care systems and Pediatrix Medical Group helps expand access to neonatal care at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Through this partnership that began September 2022, neonatologists and staff are dedicated to supporting parents, while providing the highest level of quality care for the most medically fragile patients, helping them heal, grow and thrive.
