My name is Lauren, and I'm wife to Robert and mama to Ethan and Joshua. Ethan is 10, and Joshua is 8. When Ethan was four years old, he had a stroke in the motor skills side of the brain. It landed us in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for an amount of time that I'm honestly unsure of. It was such a blur that I had no idea what day or even what time it was. After the PICU, we ended up in the Rehab Care Unit (RCU) for around a month. Ethan had to relearn to walk, use his right arm, and relearn fine motor skills. It was a really hard and scary time that also had a lot of good, sweet moments sprinkled in as well. My other son Joshua was diagnosed with childhood epilepsy and periodic fever syndrome last year after many more scary events. I don't know what I would have done without my faith, friends, family, and this amazing staff. I would love to chat and support you during this difficult time.
